Lava Proof Safe House!

WALT combine prior and new knowledge to come up with new ideas.

This week we read a book "A Bit Of A Bang" which was about the Big Bang and volcanoes and lava. After we read about it one of the activities that we needed to do was make a volcanic eruption proof shelter for us and our family.

Something I found difficult to do was sow the labels because when I kept taking pictures it was really blurry so I decided to write it with permanent marker instead and it came out a little bit more better.

I hope you like it!

  2. Kia ora Siale, I'm Amelia from Yaldhurst Model School.

I liked the way you told us what you were doing and also showed us a picture you made of it. I also like the labels you put.

This reminds me of designing my cafe and everything because its building and designing things which is what I did for the cafe.

To improve, you could rewrite the writing in pen or pencil because I couldn't really see it in felt pen.

Why did you blog about this?

    Bye Siale, keep it up!

    1. Konnichiwa Amelia! Thanks for commenting on my blog!

Thank you for your advice, and that was something I was trying to work on and make more clear for everyone to see but I thought it would be better with permanent marker. I will make sure to try those out as well!

I blogged about this because we were reading about the Big Bang and volcanoes and how it was very unsafe and there were two tasks to pick from and I chose this one because it sounded really fun to do and it was fun while I was making it!

Why did you make a Cafe? Was it a something you had to do for school?

Thank you for commenting on my blog!

  3. Kia ora Siale! My name is Hana and I'm a year 5 from Yaldhurst Model School!

Wow Siale! I love the picture of your lava proof house, it looks really cool! I also love the drawings of your family. They're also amazing!

I see you have made a really big space inside the lava proof house, that can fit up to one million people! (WOW!) I, actually live in 2 containers, (you know, the metal, humongous, containers. Not the small, plastic ones) My Dad is building the WHOLE ENTIRE HOUSE and only using the 2 containers as a base.

Next time, you could try to make the writing even MORE clear, by writing the words more like, spaced out, and more clear.

    Keep up the good work!

    From Hana

    2. Bonjour Hana! Thank you for commenting on my blog!

I have read your comment and I think that's really cool that you live in two containers and your dads making the house to. (My dad used to be a builder to!)

Thank you for your advice, and that was something that I was trying to make clear for people because I couldn't really read it properly when I was taking pictures of it. Next time I will definitely think about your suggestions.

      Thank you again for commenting!

  6. Hello Siale,
I am Alan and I am from yaldhurst model school.

    Great blog post.

If you want to improve why not try putting rooms and food supply rooms and bedrooms. And if the lava doesn't stop why not build a rocket underneath it so that when the lava is out of control you can just fly away.
    Kind regards
    Alan

I like this post, it looks really good. and I like the description In the writing and picture, It looks really good, and would come in handy in the future eruptions.

And this brings me back to when I Made a tsunami proof house, I thought it looked pretty cool! lol

I just think you could add a bit more writing at the top! then it would look amazing! nice job!
